Guest MATT Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005 As a lot of em say, the Galaxy is mostly VW, so blame them. Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005 Blame VW for what? the 2.3 is a Ford engine! How about removeing the throttle body and trying to get the broken piece out through that way without haveing to removing the inlet manifold? if the part is as big as you say I would think it is just sitting in the bottom of the manifold? you may be able to get it out by sticking in your hand or even the wifes if yours is to big? or if your really brave/foolish stick the hose in from the hoover! but be careful as it may explode if it sucks in and petrol vapor! :( you may have to leave the opening open to the atmosphere for a while to allow any petrol/vapour disapate before you try it! :( Quote
johnb80 Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005 You could put an airline down and give it a good blast in the hope that the item would get blown out or, see if the item floats if it does wash it out with a garden hose. You would need to take out the spark plugs and turn the engine over by hand and then on the starter before replacing the plugs, one cylinder would fill up with water. I would go with the air hose first and plenty of air. Regards - JB Quote
seatkid Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005 You could just turn the engine upside down and give it a good shake.. :( or you could use a handy tool like this http://img-europe.electrocomponents.com/images/C423671-01.jpg search for 423-6714 in RS components Quote
Guest vr6galaxy Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005 Turning it upside down should also help the water drain out of the engine as well! :( Quote
